He cast his mind back:
His 21st birthday - a day most people go crazy about. Not him. He'd not told anyone it was his birthday. He'd come
across people who'd proclaim it was their birthday soon, weeks before the actual date - making sure no-one would forget.
No, not him. Only two others had said anything to him, one of them being the volunteer leader who was a demon at
remembering dates, and the other one being her boyfriend.
"It's your birthday today, isn't it?"
"Sssh. Yeh," he said, putting his finger to his lips. "Don't make a big thing out of it though, I don't." He'd smiled
at both of them.
"Happy Birthday!" they answered in unison.
